The Home Energy Support Program helps low-income homeowners in the ACT reduce energy costs by making their homes more efficient. At Solar4Life, our goal is to guide you through this program so you can receive the maximum rebates and create a more sustainable home.
II. What Is the Home Energy Support Program?
This program provides financial assistance in the form of rebates for eligible homeowners who install energy-efficient products. It covers items like rooftop solar systems, reverse cycle heating/cooling, hot water heat pumps, electric cooktops/ovens, and ceiling insulation.

- Up to $2,500 for products in Category A (Rooftop Solar Systems)
- Up to $2,500 for products in Category B (Reverse cycle heating/cooling, hot water heat pumps, electric cooking appliances, and ceiling insulation)
- Maximum Rebate
- An eligible property can receive a total maximum rebate of $5,000
- Additional Support
- Eligible participants can combine this rebate with a zero-interest loan from the Sustainable Household Scheme to cover extra costs

IV. Eligibility Criteria
Participant Eligibility
- Must have a valid Services Australia Pensioner Concession Card, Department of Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card/Gold Card, or a Services Australia Health Care Card
- Must own and occupy the property where the installation takes place
- Must have attended a free Everyday Climate Choices workshop
Property Eligibility
- Property must be in the ACT and either a standalone residence or an individual unit-titled property
- Unimproved Value (UV) must be at or below $750,000 for freestanding homes/units or $300,000 for multi-story apartments
