Home Energy Support: Rebates for Homeowners

The Home Energy Support Program is an ACT Government initiative aimed at helping low-income homeowners reduce their energy costs by making their homes more energy-efficient. At Solar4Life, we are dedicated to assisting you in navigating this program, ensuring you maximize the available rebates to make your home more sustainable.

What is the Home Energy Support Program?

This program offers financial assistance in the form of rebates to eligible homeowners for the installation of energy-efficient products, including rooftop solar systems, reverse cycle heating and cooling systems, hot water heat pumps, electric stove tops, ovens, and ceiling insulation.

Key Features of the Program:

  • Rebates Available:
    • Up to $2,500 for products under Category A (Rooftop Solar Systems).
    • Up to $2,500 for products under Category B (Reverse cycle heating and cooling systems, hot water heat pumps, electric stove tops and ovens, and ceiling insulation).
  • Maximum Rebate: The total maximum rebate per eligible property is $5,000.
  • Additional Support: Eligible participants can also combine this rebate with an interest-free loan through the Sustainable Household Scheme to cover additional costs.

How to Apply for the Home Energy Support Program with Solar4Life

  1. Contact Solar4Life for a Quote: Get in touch with Solar4Life to receive a quote for eligible products such as rooftop solar systems or other energy-efficient upgrades.

  2. Inform Solar4Life: Let us know that you wish to apply for the Home Energy Support Program rebate. We will assist you in gathering the necessary documentation and guide you through the application process.

  3. Pre-Approval Process: We will help you submit your application to the ACT Government for pre-approval before proceeding with the installation.

  4. Installation: Once pre-approved, Solar4Life will install your selected products according to the highest standards.

  5. Rebate Claim: After installation, we will help you complete and submit the rebate claim form to the ACT Government. The rebate amount will then be paid directly into your nominated bank account.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Participant Eligibility:

    • Must hold a valid Services Australia Pensioner Concession Card, Department of Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card, Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card, or Services Australia Health Care Card.
    • Must own and occupy the home where the installation will take place.
    • Must have attended a free Everyday Climate Choices workshop.
  • Property Eligibility:

    • The property must be located within the ACT and must be a standalone residence or an individual unit titled property.
    • The unimproved value (UV) of the property must be at or below $750,000 for freestanding homes/units or $300,000 for multi-story apartments.
