In November 2024, the New South Wales Government introduced a battery rebate under the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS).     • Receive a $1,600–$2,400 discount on a new battery system, based on its usable capacity. Larger systems qualify for higher discounts.
  • Virtual Power Plant (VPP) Incentive
    • Earn an additional $250–$400 for connecting your battery to a VPP. This incentive can be claimed twice, with at least three years between claims.

III. Eligibility Criteria

  1. Residency or Business Location: Must be located in New South Wales.
  2. Existing Solar System: Property must already have an operational rooftop solar setup.
  3. Battery Capacity: Must have a nominal capacity between 2 kWh and 28 kWh.
  4. Accredited Installer: Installation must be carried out by an installer under an Accredited Certificate Provider approved by the PDRS.
