Yes, there are several government incentives and rebates available that can significantly reduce the upfront cost of your solar system and other energy solutions. These include:

  • Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) Scheme: A federal incentive that provides substantial rebates for solar system installations, helping to lower the overall cost.

  • ACT (SHS): Offers rebates and zero-interest loans for solar installations and other eligible products, making it easier for homeowners to invest in solar energy.

  • ACT Home Energy Support Program: This program provides additional support for eligible low-income households in the ACT, offering rebates and financial assistance for energy-efficient upgrades, including solar installations, insulation, and hot water systems. The goal is to help reduce energy bills and improve home comfort for those who need it most.
  • NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS): Homes and businesses with rooftop solar can access incentives to install residential battery storage and connect to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). These incentives, available from 1 November 2024, include:

    • $1,600 to $2,400 off the upfront installation costs of a battery for homes and businesses with existing solar, depending on the battery size.
    • $250 to $400 for connecting your household or business battery to a VPP, with this incentive available twice, a minimum of 3 years apart.
  • NSW Battery Scheme: New battery incentives will be available from 1 November 2024. These incentives are aimed at helping homes and businesses maximize the use of solar energy, reduce electricity bills, and support the reliability and stability of the grid. To take advantage of these incentives, you will need to work with an accredited supplier.

    • NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS): Homes and businesses with rooftop solar can access incentives to install residential battery storage and connect to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). These incentives, available from 1 November 2024, include:
