TESLA Powerwall 2 with Gateway
A Powerwall system consists of at least one Powerwall battery and a Backup Gateway. The Backup Gateway provides energy management, metering and monitoring functions for Powerwall. It controls connection to the grid, safely disconnecting your home and starting backup operation during an outage. The Backup Gateway also includes communication functions for up to 10 Powerwall units, and receives over-the-air updates for the system.
LG Chem RESU
The RESU or ‘Residential Energy Storage Unit‘ range consists of both 48 volt and higher voltage 400 volt lithium battery options. The 48V (LV) series is available in 3.3kWh, 6.5kWh, 9.8kWh and more recently a larger 12.4kWh size. All size figures are based on the total capacity but usable capacity is 90%.
All LG Chem RESU batteries are IP55 weather rated. This means they can be installed in a semi-outdoor location such as a verandah or carport, but should not be located in a position exposed to direct sunlight, especially during the warmer months. As with any electrical/battery system, excessive prolonged heat is detrimental to the performance and life of the system.

Can I increase the size of my system in the future?
This depends on your roof space and the size of the inverter. If you have sufficient roof space and additional capacity in the inverter you could increase the size of your system. Or you could add a second system to your roof. Please note: At this time, the solar Feed-in Tariffs in each state have limits on the system size which to they apply. Increasing the size of an existing solar power system could affect your eligibility for a Feed-in Tariff. Please call us for further information.
How long is the wait between booking and installation?
Since this depends on how long approval takes, it varies state-to-state. South Australia currently has the fastest meter approval and installation timeframe of 1-2 weeks. Western Australia is the slowest at about 4-8 weeks.

With net metering, you only pay for the electricity that you use beyond what your solar panels can generate.
